Premier League Winners Headline Andover Charity Football Showdown

Excitement is building ahead of this weekend’s Andover New Street Youth Charity Day, with organisers unveiling a major announcement set to elevate the occasion at the DH Property Stadium.

The popular community event, which already promises a day of football, fundraising and family entertainment, will now feature a live auction in the evening, taking place after the raffle. A range of prizes will be up for grabs, with organisers also inviting early interest from those unable to attend on the night. Supporters can submit advance bids via the club’s social media channels.

However, the biggest boost comes on the pitch, with several high-profile former professionals expected to feature in the headline re-match between the Foxes and the Vixens, subject to travel arrangements.

Leading the list is Wes Morgan, the former Leicester City captain who famously lifted the Premier League 2015–16 trophy in one of the greatest sporting underdog stories of all time. Morgan was a commanding presence at the heart of defence and a natural leader throughout his career.

He is set to be joined by former teammate Danny Simpson, who played a key role at right-back during Leicester’s historic title-winning campaign. Known for his consistency and work rate, Simpson was an integral part of that remarkable squad.

Adding further attacking flair is Papiss Cissé, a striker fondly remembered for his time at Newcastle United. Cissé earned widespread acclaim for his eye for goal, including a stunning long-range effort against Chelsea that remains one of the Premier League’s most iconic strikes.

Completing the line-up is Oumar Niasse, a powerful forward who featured in the Premier League with Everton. Niasse became known for his physical presence, pace and ability to find the net at crucial moments.

Everyone at Andover New Street Youth FC has also sent their best wishes to Petr Čech, who will sadly miss this year’s event through injury. A hugely popular figure from previous charity days, his presence has been greatly appreciated by players and supporters alike, and the club hopes to welcome him back in the future.

With star names set to take to the pitch and a live auction adding to the evening’s entertainment, the Youth Charity Day is shaping up to be a standout event for the local community. Organisers hope the occasion will not only provide memorable moments for supporters but also raise vital funds to support youth football and charitable initiatives connected to the club.
