A group of enterprising students at Rookwood School have launched a creative new social enterprise aimed at giving pre-loved soft toys a second chance to be loved.

The project, named In-Joy, has been developed by Year 7, 8, and 9 pupils as part of the school’s Teen Enterprise extracurricular club, which runs every Tuesday lunchtime. With a clear focus on compassion, sustainability, and social impact, the student-led initiative is already making waves.
The concept is simple but heart-warming: donated soft toys are rescued, refreshed, and rehomed. Each toy is thoroughly cleaned, carefully restored, and lovingly packaged with its very own adoption story before being made available for resale.
“Every soft toy deserves a second chance to be loved,” says the In-Joy team.
The first adoption event is already in the works, with more information coming soon on how members of the school and local community can get involved – whether by donating toys or supporting the student-run sale.
The initiative not only reduces waste but also empowers young people to lead with empathy, creativity, and entrepreneurial flair.
