Staff at Andover-based SMI have taken part in a charity cable stripping challenge to raise funds for the Countess of Brecknock Hospice.
The company, based at Walworth Business Park, held the event as part of its support for its Charity of the Year.
The challenge brought colleagues together from across the business for a mix of teamwork, friendly competition and fundraising.
During the contest, staff went head-to-head to strip and process cables as efficiently as possible.
To make things fairer, SMI’s skilled technicians were asked to use their non-dominant hand as they competed against colleagues from the company’s administrative teams.
SMI said the event created a lively atmosphere, with colleagues encouraging one another throughout the challenge.
The winner was Jasmine Matthews, who took the top spot after showing skill, efficiency and determination.
The company said the activity gave employees the chance to step away from their usual roles, work together in a different way and support a cause close to the local community.
The Countess of Brecknock Hospice provides care and support for patients and families facing life-limiting illness.
Its work includes specialist medical care, emotional support, practical support and bereavement services.
SMI said every effort made during the contest contributed to fundraising for the hospice and helped support the essential services it provides locally.
The company said it was proud to support the hospice and see employees actively involved in helping its work.
SMI says it plans to continue its fundraising journey with further opportunities for staff to come together and support its chosen charity.
