The annual event, open to male bowlers at the club, attracted 21 entrants, with all seven rinks in use throughout the day. Each competitor played or marked matches, with games lasting six ends and each bowler guaranteed four fixtures.

After a damp start, play was briefly interrupted by a downpour before the semi-finals. In the first semi, Steve beat Dave Clipsom 10-1, while Andy secured a narrow win over Dave Bradbury on the final end.

In the final, Steve maintained complete control, winning the toss and keeping the mat throughout. By the fourth end, he had built a 9-0 lead that Andy could not close.

Steve Trim said:

“I didn’t think I’d win like that, either over Andy or Dave in the semi! I got right into the groove and the woods just flowed into place for me. I’m delighted to have come out on top.”

The club thanked all participants, those who stepped in to fill last-minute withdrawals, and Mick Corden for organising the competition.
