Deputy Headteacher Rob Wood was this week confirmed as the new headteacher, 14 years after he first joined the school. Rob will begin his new role from September 2023.
Rob Wood will begin his new role as Headteacher at The Wellington Academy from September 2023. It is an exciting new development for the school and the school is looking forward to see how Rob will progress in his new role.
In his new role as Headteacher, Rob Wood has reflected “I am genuinely thrilled to be given this opportunity, in my role as Deputy Headteacher I have worked closely with the students, staff and community and am excited to be able to continue to do so at The Wellington Academy. My significant time at the school up to this point has allowed me to understand the needs and aspirations of those we serve, and I am confident I know what the next best steps for leading the school forward are.”
CEO of the Trust George Croxford had commented “There was a strong shortlist of candidates with a two-day selection procedure. At the end of the process we appointed Rob Wood, who we believe to be the best candidate to lead The Wellington Academy forward.”
