Two Arrested After Copper Cable Burglary in Andover

Two men have been arrested following a suspected copper cable burglary in Andover.

Officers were carrying out patrols in the Woodpecker Way area when they noticed a hole cut into the fence surrounding one of the businesses.

Police entered the site to ensure no one was inside and saw individuals dressed in dark clothing running towards nearby railway tracks.

An area search was launched with assistance from Wiltshire Police and British Transport Police. Two men were located a short distance away.

A 31-year-old man and a 38-year-old man, both from Bristol, were arrested on suspicion of burglary. They have since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Officers also seized a vehicle and a quantity of cut copper cables as part of the investigation.

Police enquiries remain ongoing.
