Police investigating an assault in Andover have arrested two teenage girls following enquiries into an incident that was captured on video and shared online.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary became aware on 7 June of footage circulating on social media which appeared to show a girl being assaulted in Bridge Street, Andover.
The victim, who is also in her teens, suffered injuries to her head and face as a result of the incident.
Following a number of enquiries, officers have arrested two 14-year-old girls in connection with the investigation. One of the girls is from Ludgershall, while the other is from Tidworth.
Both have been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH) and have since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
