Anti-Social Behaviour Escalates in Andover Town Centre Over Weekend

A weekend of antisocial behaviour has left parts of Andover Town Centre damaged and disrespected, with minor vandalism reported to a historic listed building and evidence of underage drinking scattered across public areas.

The leaded windows above the entrance to George Yard sustained minor damage. Waterloo Court was left littered with broken vodka bottles, some believed to have been bought locally. The Time Ring area also saw large groups gathering, causing disruption and concern among residents and businesses.

A local businessperson who asked not to be named, said:

β€œIt’s the same group of kids most weekends. We try to run our businesses and keep the area nice, but it’s hard when this keeps happening.”

The incidents come after warnings from community leaders and local organisations about rising levels of youth-related disruption in the town. There are renewed calls for increased police patrols, better support for diversionary activities, and a stronger partnership between schools, parents and police.

Anyone with information about the incidents is urged to contact Hampshire Constabulary.
