A brand new pet care service has launched in Andover, offering professional, personalised care for dogs and other furry friends.
Local resident Lucy Kitson has turned her lifelong passion for animals into a full-time business with Fur The Love Of Pets—a new venture already winning hearts across the town.
Lucy, who was born and raised in Andover, says the idea stemmed from her desire to do something meaningful.
“I’ve always had a love and passion for animals, and spending time with them brings me joy,” she explains. “After being stuck in a job where I was unhappy, I asked myself daily, ‘What could I do instead?’ Starting Fur The Love Of Pets felt like the perfect way to turn that love into something meaningful, while helping pet owners provide the best care for their animals.”
Currently, the business offers solo dog walks (30 minutes or one hour), as well as flexible pet sitting—ranging from hourly visits to extended holiday care. Lucy plans to introduce group walks soon, once she’s had the chance to get to know each pet and their individual needs.
What sets Fur The Love Of Pets apart is Lucy’s highly personalised approach. Every animal is treated like one of her own, and consistency is key: pets and owners can expect the same friendly face each time.
She’s also introduced real-time updates for added peace of mind.
“I provide photos, updates and GPS tracking during walks,” says Lucy. “It’s all about building trust and creating a stronger bond with both the pets and their owners.”
Safety and training are a top priority, too. Before launching the business full-time, Lucy completed courses in dog walking, pet sitting, and pet first aid—ensuring that every animal in her care is safe, happy, and in capable hands.
