Andover Streets Ahead Celebrate Second Place at Inclusive Brendon 66 Tournament

The Andover Streets Ahead Adults team are celebrating after securing an impressive second-place finish at the Inclusive Brendon 66 Tournament, held on the 29th June 2025.

The team, which supports adults and children with additional needs to take part in community-based football, competed valiantly in the summer heat to claim the silver medal at this prestigious disability football event. A particular highlight of the day was a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Chelsea’s inclusive squad, showcasing the talent and determination of the Andover players.

Team manager Dan Matthews praised the group for their attitude and resilience:

“These boys are still learning how to play alongside one another, with new players joining us in recent weeks. I couldn’t have asked for more than the effort they each put in yesterday – they did incredibly well, despite the heat. These boys will undoubtedly become stronger as the new season commences. I can’t wait to see what happens next with them!”

Andover Streets Ahead are proud to be part of the Andover New Street Football Club family, a growing network of teams that put community, inclusivity, and development at the heart of everything they do.

Hosted by the Accredited England Disability Football Club, Inclusive Brendon 66, the tournament brings together disability-only teams from across the region in a welcoming and supportive environment. The club, founded by volunteers with personal experience of disability or long-term health conditions, is the first of its kind in Hampshire, with a mission to provide inclusive football opportunities for all.

Andover Streets Ahead continues to grow in strength and spirit, offering inclusive football for those with additional needs and focusing not only on results, but on enjoyment, development, and community.
