Villagers from Stockbridge, Longstock and Houghton are joining forces to challenge proposed housing plans near a historic local site.

A community meeting will be held at Stockbridge Town Hall on Monday 28 July at 7.00 pm to discuss a proposed development near Danebury school that has sparked local concern.
In response to Test Valley Borough Council’s draft local plan, which includes potential development on land surrounding the historic school, residents from Houghton, Longstock and Stockbridge have formed a Pan Parish group to coordinate opposition.
Chairman of Stockbridge Parish Council, Derek Hallé, said the meeting will offer residents the chance to learn more about the plans and raise their concerns directly.
The proposal has raised fears about the environmental and heritage impact on the area around the Iron Age hillfort of Danebury and its surroundings.
All residents are invited to attend and take part in the discussion.
