Police stopped a suspicious vehicle in the village of Broughton during a rural patrol on 31 December 2025, leading to an arrest and the seizure of the car.

Officers found that the driver was not insured, and a ticket was issued for driving without insurance. The vehicle was subsequently seized at the roadside.
Further checks revealed that the driver had been driving for less than two years. As a result of the offence, his driving licence will now be revoked.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of breaching the conditions of his work visa. Enquiries are ongoing.
Police have reiterated that rural patrols remain an important part of tackling crime and road safety issues across villages in and around Andover.
