The friendly team behind Stonehenge Triathlon And Road Club are preparing to welcome competitors of all ages back for the annual Stonehenge Triathlon & Avon Aquathlon on Sunday 10th May 2026.

Taking place at Durrington Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre, the popular pool-based event has become a favourite for both experienced athletes and newcomers looking to take on their first multi-sport challenge.
The adults’ races will take place during the morning, with children’s events following in the afternoon. Organisers say the event is designed to be novice-friendly while still offering a competitive challenge for more experienced triathletes.
Several members of Andover Triathlon Club have already signed up to take part in this year’s event, despite it being held just outside the local area.
The main event includes a choice of triathlon, aquabike and aquathlon races. Adult competitors can take on a 400m swim, 19km cycle and 5km run triathlon, while younger competitors can enter a range of youth and children’s races with distances tailored to different age groups.
New for 2026 is a special “Come and Try” triathlon session aimed at children aged 6 to 14.
The initiative has been introduced to encourage more young people to experience the sport in a relaxed and supportive environment for just £5.
Children taking part will be able to choose from:
- Swimming between one and four lengths, with or without swim aids
- Cycling one or two laps of a safe off-road course
- Running one or two laps of a safe off-road run course
Registration for the “Come and Try” session opens on the day from 11:45am, with organisers advising that payment will be cash only.
Organisers from the STAR club say the event is all about creating a welcoming atmosphere and helping people of all abilities enjoy triathlon.
The event is hosted by Stonehenge Triathlon And Road Club with the permission of Wiltshire Council’s Durrington Pool and Fitness Centre.
