Andover College has rescheduled its 2026 Applicant Welcome Day because of the red weather alert issued for the town.

The event had been due to take place on Wednesday 24 June but has now been moved to Tuesday 7 July 2026.
The college said the decision was made because it could not be certain that all students and staff could be kept safe during the event.
A statement from Andover College said:
“This has not been an easy decision. However, given the nature of the event we cannot be certain that we would be able to keep all students and staff safe on the day.
“The safety and wellbeing of our college community must remain our first priority, and we believe that rescheduling is the only responsible course of action in the circumstances.”
The college said it was sorry to change the date of what it described as one of its favourite occasions in the college calendar.
It added that it understood the disappointment for students and families who had been looking forward to attending this week.
The timings and schedule for the Applicant Welcome Day are expected to remain the same, with further timetable details being sent out by the college.
Andover College also moved learning online for Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June because of the red weather warning and the exceptional heat and humidity forecast for the area.
