Poundland has confirmed further details of its plans to keep its Andover store open, with the High Street branch set to temporarily close this weekend before reopening later this month.

The retailer announced earlier this week that it had secured new lease terms, allowing the store at 11–15 High Street to remain in Andover after previously facing closure.
The company has now confirmed the store will close after trading on Sunday 19 July to allow colleagues to re-stock the shop ahead of its reopening.
The temporary closure is expected to last just over a week, with the branch due to reopen on the morning of Wednesday 29 July.
During the closure, staff will work to replenish stock and prepare the store for customers as it begins its next chapter on Andover High Street.
A Poundland spokesperson said the team would be “working hard over the next week or so to get the store back up and running and looking in amazing shape.”
The announcement brings further reassurance to both customers and the store’s employees following weeks of uncertainty over its future. Earlier this month, Poundland confirmed the branch was due to close after failing to agree new lease terms with the landlord. However, the retailer has since reached a new agreement, securing the future of the store.
The decision means shoppers will only face a short interruption while the branch is refreshed, with the store expected to welcome customers back from Wednesday 29 July with fully replenished shelves.
The latest update is likely to be welcomed by both customers and staff, who can now look forward to the store reopening after what has been an uncertain period for one of Andover High Street’s longest-established retailers.
