With England’s World Cup campaign over, The Lights theatre is inviting audiences to swap post-match disappointment for plenty of laughs as ‘Before the Fringe’ returns next week.

Over five nights, ten comedians will take to the stage with work-in-progress shows, giving audiences the chance to experience new material before many of the acts head to this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
The series brings together established names and rising stars from across the UK comedy circuit, alongside food trucks and an early-opening bar, giving visitors plenty of reasons to make a full evening of it.
The programme begins on Monday 20 July with Bella Hull and Cecily Hitchcock, with food from Trash Panda Pizza. Rob Auton and Jonny Pelham perform on Tuesday 21 July, followed by Garrett Millerick and Huge Davies on Wednesday 22 July, with The Hungry Hog serving food on both evenings.
On Thursday 23 July, audiences can enjoy performances from Sara Barron and Pierre Novellie, with food from Peppones Street Food, before the week concludes on Friday 24 July with Morgan Rees and James Trickey, accompanied by LOAF Catering.
The popular series gives comedy fans the opportunity to see performers in an intimate setting as they refine and develop material ahead of one of the world’s best-known arts festivals.
Multi-show discounts are available for those wishing to attend more than one performance.
