A week of Edinburgh Fringe comedy shows coming to Andover this July

Edinburgh is 397.5 miles from Andover. So, The Lights is bringing Edinburgh Comedy Festival Previews to the heart of Hampshire in July. No long distances and no hotel required.

For the first time in its history, The Lights will be holding a week of stand-up comedy, showcasing some of this year’s Edinburgh Fringe festival acts that will be performing in at the comedy arts festival this August. It’s also the first time a comedy festival has been held in Andover. “Before The Fringe Fest” is being held from Monday, 8 July until Friday, 12 July.

With ten comedians across five nights, the venue will be host to names including Glenn Moore, Chloe Petts, Sara Barron, Josh Weller, Bella Hull and more.

With four of the five nights already confirmed, it’s going to be an eventful week at the local venue. All of the comedy nights will be held in The Lights arena. The arena has played host to numerous comedy clubs over the years that The Lights has hosted, as well as tour shows from Terry Alderton, Jessica Fostekew and Carl Hutchinson in recent years.

With a plethora of comedy coming up in 2024, including Miles Jupp, Omid Djalili, Ria Lina, Nick Helm, and Richard Herring to name but a few, the venue has had a huge number of big names through the door since 2006. Of which, many have gone on to be huge stars on stage and screen.

The “Before The Fringe Fest” is an opportunity to see some comedians who have already shone on TV, with Chloe Petts, Sara Barron and Glenn Moore appearing on various shows such as Live at the Apollo, House of Games, and Mock The Week.

Rather than watching them on the telly, watch them live and in person at The Lights this July. Be part of the venue’s history and say “I was there for the first one”.

Full lineups are available on the venue website. Tickets are available for £14 per night. Tickets are now on sale at The Lights Box Office and on the Shows page.
