Following the rousing success of Fiddler on the Roof, Andover Musical Theatre Company has announced its next electrifying production – the 80s rock extravaganza Rock of Ages.
Packed with iconic anthems and big hair, Rock of Ages is a jukebox musical celebration of classic rock hits. It promises to bring the house down in November 2025 – and now the company is inviting you to be part of the action.
If you’ve ever dreamed of being in a musical, this could be your moment. The company is calling on both returning performers and fresh faces to join them at their official Rock of Ages launch party, taking place at 7.30pm on Tuesday 3rd June 2025 in Studio 1 at The Lights, Andover.
Attendees will get the chance to meet Director Claire Nias and Musical Director Alun Grace, who will present their creative vision for the show. You’ll hear about the staging plans, available roles, and the all-important audition process. Whether you want to take centre stage or support behind the scenes, there’s a place for you in this high-energy production.
The show itself will run from 26th to 29th November 2025, and due to its mature content, participants must be aged 16 or over and have left school. There is no upper age limit, and all are welcome to get involved.
In the lead-up to auditions, the company is introducing some of the show’s beloved characters – including Sherrie, a small-town girl with stars in her eyes. Sweet, ambitious and emotionally open, Sherrie moves to the city to chase her acting dreams, despite her parents’ disapproval. She’s full of hope, heart, and classic 80s charm – and might just find romance along the way.
