Community groups in Andover are being invited to apply for a share of £20,000 in grant funding to run free summer holiday activities for local children and families.

Launched by Southern & Northern Group (SNG), the Summer Opportunities Fund offers microgrants of up to £1,000 for clubs and organisations delivering fun, enriching programmes in areas where SNG residents live — including neighbourhoods across Andover.
From creative workshops and sports clubs to food-based activities and wellbeing sessions, the fund aims to give young people access to meaningful experiences throughout the school break, particularly those from low-income households or in receipt of free school meals.
Stevie Chadwick, SNG’s Community Investment and Partnerships Manager, said:
“We know the school holidays can put pressure on local families, which is why we’re proud to support grassroots groups working hard to make a difference. These grants will help open up opportunities for children in places like Andover, allowing them to enjoy a summer full of fun and connection.”
SNG has a growing presence in Andover and surrounding villages, and says the funding builds on its wider work to ensure residents live in places where they can thrive. Previous summer projects supported by SNG include drama workshops, family cookery sessions and group fitness events – all designed to boost confidence, skills and wellbeing.
To apply, groups must show how their activities will be promoted to SNG residents and how they will benefit the wider community.
