Andover BID Launches December Photography Competition to Capture the Town’s Winter Magic

Andover BID has officially launched its 2025 Winter Photography Competition, inviting residents and visitors to showcase the beauty of Andover Town Centre throughout December.

From the icy shimmer of the River Anton to festive lights, steaming hot chocolate, and winter wildlife, the competition encourages participants to capture what makes the town picture-perfect during the colder months.

The contest features three age categories — Under 12s, Ages 12–18, and Ages 18+ — allowing photographers of all ages to take part. Entrants under 18 must have a parent or guardian submit their images on their behalf.

The competition opens today, with entries accepted until midnight on 31 December 2025. Winners will be contacted by 10 January 2026.

Judging will be carried out by Pride of Andover Award recipients Emily and Badger Marsh of Brock Arts & Printing, who will select winners based on creativity, quality, and how well each image captures the spirit of Andover in winter. Each photographer may submit up to five images, with organisers requesting that each be sent in a separate email. Andover BID notes that the judges’ decision is final.

Winners in each category will receive a professionally printed, mounted, and framed 12×10 photograph, courtesy of Andover Picture Framing. The winning images will also be proudly displayed on the In Andover website and shared across its social media channels.

To enter, participants must email their photographs to events@andoverbid.org.uk. While organisers will review all submissions, they regret that they may not be able to respond to each entrant individually.

The competition aims to celebrate community creativity while highlighting Andover’s charm during the festive season — encouraging everyone to take a fresh look at the town through the lens.
