The Andover BMX Club is beaming with pride as one of its youngest talents, Newton Hindley, prepares to take on the world stage.

Newton has successfully qualified for the BMX World Championships – an extraordinary achievement made even more special by the backing of the local community and a generous donation from The Jamie G Sporting Trust.
Representatives from the Trust, including Jacqueline Gentleman and trustee Louise Broe, recently met with Newton to present him with £300 to support his journey to the prestigious international event. The gesture underlines the Trust’s continued commitment to nurturing young sporting talent in the Andover area.
Newton, who rides for Andover BMX Club and trains at the Andover BMX Track, has qualified in both the standard BMX and Cruiser BMX categories – a remarkable double qualification for someone so young.

His father, Luther Hindley, shared heartfelt words of gratitude:
“We would really like to thank The Jamie G Sporting Trust for their generous donation to Newton’s BMX World Championship journey this year.
The Trust has helped significantly and genuinely provided the sort of financial assistance that makes it possible for him to compete at this level.
Newton feels privileged to have qualified for the World Championships on his BMX and on his Cruiser BMX, but also to be the recipient of such support from the Jamie G Trust. It really does make a big difference to him and his entire support network.”
The Jamie G Sporting Trust has long been a champion of grassroots sport in the region, helping provide essential funding for equipment, training, and access to competitive opportunities for young athletes. Their support of Newton is just the latest example of their impactful work in the local sporting community.
While Newton’s achievements are impressive, he’s not alone in representing the club on the world stage. This year marks a milestone for Andover BMX Raceway, with a record 21 riders qualifying for the World Championships. What makes Newton’s journey particularly special, however, is that he’s the only one among them who actually lives in Andover – making his success a true hometown story.
Andover BMX Club, based at the purpose-built Andover BMX Track, continues to go from strength to strength, offering coaching and competition opportunities for riders of all ages and abilities. The club is immensely proud of Newton’s achievements and encourages anyone interested in the sport to get involved.
