The Andover Christmas Lights Switch On 2017 was hailed as a great success as the town came together to fill the High Street from end to end.
Residents and visitors to the town turned out in their thousands to see local talent Portway Glee Club, Matilda Murphy, Long Overdue Theatre Company, Jake Ward Fair Play Arts, Chris Berntsen, Andover Rock Choir, and Maddison Douch perform, before the lights and fireworks display.
Andover Radio Director said:
“This is one of, if not the, best Christmas event for any town of this size. People who say ‘Andover has nothing to offer’ need to rethink.”
Tip Top Balloons and Thorntons shop owner Dave Stanbridge said,
“We really enjoyed the evening and would like to thank David from Andover Radio for the invitation to The Globe. It was also nice to see the light switch on supported by so many people, especially as many complain that there is never anything happening in our town. The fireworks were spectacular”
Andover Town Council provided the lights and tree whilst the Chantry Centre provided a fabulous fireworks finale to the event.
Thanks also go to Heather Whittam and her team for organising another smooth running and brilliant event for the town.
