Nearly 500 runners have already signed up for this weekend’s Andover Half Marathon and 12km race, with organisers reminding anyone hoping to take part that today (Monday 19 October) is the final day to enter.

The popular running event returns on Sunday 25 October, bringing hundreds of runners to Andover for a morning of fitness, determination and community spirit.
Organised by Seasons Run Club, the event will see participants take on either the Half Marathon or 12km distance, with both races starting and finishing in Andover High Street.
The Half Marathon will get underway at 8am, followed by the 12km race at 9am, with runners heading out from the town centre into the picturesque Hampshire countryside before returning to the High Street finish line.
With nearly 500 people already registered, organisers are hoping the event will help inspire more people to get active while bringing the local community together.
However, anyone wishing to take part must register by the end of today (Monday 19 October), with entries closing ahead of Sunday’s event.
Local Community Rallies Behind Running Event
The event is about much more than running, with local volunteers, community groups and businesses coming together to ensure the day is a success.
Members of the Girl Guides and Explorers will be helping to manage the runners’ bag drop, collecting voluntary donations to support future trips and activities.
Local businesses are also lending their support, with the Chantry Centre opening its car park and facilities early to accommodate those attending the event.
The Travelling Cupcake will also be opening from 7am, welcoming runners, spectators and supporters ahead of the morning’s races.
Organisers say the support demonstrates the strength of Andover’s community spirit, with people of all ages contributing towards an event designed to make the town a happier and healthier place.
More Volunteers Needed
Despite the impressive number of runners already registered, organisers are still appealing for additional volunteers to help make Sunday’s event run smoothly.
Volunteers are needed across several areas, including registration, course marshalling, aid stations and the finish line.
The event promises plenty of memorable moments, from the anticipation at the starting line to the emotional scenes as runners complete their distances and receive their finisher medals.
For many participants, the race represents a personal challenge, whether that means achieving a new personal best, completing a first long-distance event or simply enjoying the experience of running alongside hundreds of others.
Organisers are also encouraging residents to come into the town centre and line the route to cheer on participants as they make their way towards the finish.
Last Chance to Enter
With race day now less than a week away, Monday 19 October marks the final opportunity for runners to secure their place.
The Andover Half Marathon begins at 8am on Sunday 25 October, with the 12km race following at 9am. Both races start and finish in Andover High Street.
Residents are encouraged to support the event, whether by taking part, volunteering or cheering on runners.
Further information and entry details can be found on the Seasons Run Club website.
For those not running, Sunday’s event offers an opportunity to get behind the hundreds of people taking on a challenge while celebrating the volunteers and businesses helping to make it possible.
