Andover Primary Care Network (PCN) has been named a finalist in the PCN of the Year category at the 17th Annual General Practice Awards, thanks to the success of the Andover Health Hub.

The shortlist, announced by Pulse PCN, features just ten networks from across the UK, each recognised for pioneering work to improve patient care, access and outcomes. Andover is the only finalist from Hampshire.
At the heart of the nomination is the Andover Health Hub, a landmark project transforming a former retail unit in the Chantry Centre into a vibrant, accessible health facility. Since opening in January 2023, the Hub has delivered over 14,000 appointments, helping to reduce pressure on GP surgeries and address the needs of a growing and ageing population.
The Hub offers a wide range of services including NHS health checks, COVID-19 vaccinations, prostate cancer screening, and first-contact physiotherapy appointments. In September 2025, the site expanded to include a new reception area, 12 consulting rooms, shared offices, and group workspace – paving the way for the relocation of the Community Mental Health Team and Older People’s Mental Health Team.
The £260,000 expansion was funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, provided by Test Valley Borough Council, with additional support from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Councillor Phil North, Leader of the Council, previously described the Health Hub as a “major step forward” in improving access to joined-up care in the town.
Andover PCN now faces competition from nine other PCNs across England, including projects focused on mental health, digital inclusion, and health inequality. Winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony in London on Thursday 5 December 2025.
