Andover Radio’s Chris McKeegan To Finally Play Ibiza After Three-Decade Career

Andover Radio’s very own Chris McKeegan is preparing to achieve a lifelong ambition as he heads to Ibiza to DJ on the world-famous party island after 30 years behind the decks.

Chris, who presents House of Rhythm every Friday night from 9pm to 10pm on Andover Radio 95.9FM, will be taking his sound from the Andover airwaves to Ibiza this October as part of the No Gimmicks Ibiza Weekender.

The event, taking place from 2 to 4 October, will see Chris performing at venues including Itaca Ibiza, The Irish Bay and the legendary Café del Mar.

For Chris, the trip represents much more than another DJ booking. It will fulfil the one major ambition that has remained on his list throughout a career spanning three decades.

During that time, Chris has performed at some of the biggest clubs and festivals in the UK, released an album and enjoyed a spell as a resident DJ on MistaJam’s Daily Dose radio show in 2012.

But despite everything he has achieved, there was one place he had never managed to play – Ibiza.

Chris said: “I’ve been DJing for 30 years and I have achieved every goal I ever set out to do. I’ve DJ’ed at some of the biggest clubs and festivals in the UK, released an album and was even a resident on arguably the biggest radio station in the world.

“However, one thing had always eluded me – I’ve never played in Ibiza. Until now.”

He added: “After 30 years of being a DJ, I am about to finally do the one thing I always dreamt of doing – DJing in Ibiza.

“Back in 2012 I was a resident for a brief time on MistaJam’s Daily Dose radio show and ever since then the only real goal of mine was to play on the island.

“This year it happens.”

The opportunity comes courtesy of No Gimmicks, a collective of Salisbury-based DJs who have put together their own Ibiza weekender following months of work behind the scenes.

Rather than simply travelling to the island to experience its famous nightlife, the collective will be stepping behind the decks themselves, with Chris joining the line-up across the three-day event.

Ibiza has held an almost mythical status within dance music for decades, becoming synonymous with house music and attracting DJs and clubbers from across the world. For someone who has spent 30 years immersed in the scene, playing there represents a significant career milestone.

It will also be a proud moment for Andover Radio, with one of the station’s own presenters swapping the Friday night studio for the decks in Ibiza.

Listeners in Andover will already know Chris through House of Rhythm, his weekly Friday night show dedicated to house music and the sounds that have shaped his career behind the decks.

Now, after three decades of DJing, the man normally bringing Ibiza-style sounds to Andover will finally be playing them on the island itself.

Chris said he would love to see familiar faces making the journey to support him, adding: “I’d love to see you there.”

The No Gimmicks Ibiza Weekender takes place from Friday 2 October to Sunday 4 October 2026, with Chris McKeegan set to perform at Itaca Ibiza, The Irish Bay and Café del Mar.

House of Rhythm with Chris McKeegan can be heard every Friday from 9pm to 10pm on Andover Radio 95.9FM.
