Andover Swimming & Water Polo Club (ASWPC) is calling on local businesses, community organisations and residents to help support the future of grassroots swimming in the town.
The long-established club provides opportunities for swimmers of all ages and abilities, offering far more than lessons in the pool. Through dedicated coaching and the commitment of its volunteers, ASWPC helps young people build confidence, resilience, discipline, teamwork and lifelong friendships while encouraging healthy, active lifestyles.
Whether members are learning new skills, competing at county and regional level, or simply enjoying the sport, the club prides itself on creating a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone can reach their own personal goals.
Like many community sports clubs, ASWPC relies heavily on volunteers, fundraising and the generosity of local supporters to keep swimming opportunities accessible and affordable for families.
A club spokesperson said: “Swimming is one of the most important life skills a child can learn, but being part of a club offers so much more than time in the water. Our swimmers learn commitment, perseverance and self-belief. We are incredibly proud of what our members achieve both in and out of the pool.”
The club is now looking to strengthen its connections within the local community by securing sponsorship from local businesses that want to invest in youth development, health and wellbeing, and grassroots sport.
Sponsorship funding helps provide coaching resources, equipment, club development projects and opportunities for swimmers to continue progressing through the sport. In return, sponsors receive recognition through the club’s digital channels, social media platforms and promotional activities while demonstrating their support for young people and community sport.
ASWPC has recently introduced several initiatives aimed at securing the club’s long-term future, including fundraising campaigns, local partnerships and community engagement projects. However, the club says continued support remains essential to ensure future generations can continue to benefit from everything it has to offer.
The club is encouraging anyone who would like to help to get involved, whether through sponsorship, fundraising, volunteering or simply helping to spread the word.
