Andover Town FC 11 points clear

Andover Town FC Barmy Army
Barmy Army: Andover Town FC

Another good evening for Andover’s two Wessex League sides with both recording victories.

Andover Town moved eleven points clear at the top of the Premier Division with a two one defeat of Lymington Town courtesy of goals from their “G-Force” strikers.  Zach Glasspool notched the first and a Mike Gosney penalty  made it two before a late goal from the visitors narrowed the deficit.

Andover New Street were on Cup duty with local rivals Whitchurch providing the opposition at Charlton in the semi Final of the North Hants Senior Cup.

In a keenly contested game all three goals came in the second half with Man of the Match Jazz Beavis and Zac Hine scoring for Street before a late goal from Nick Yeomans led to a frantic final five minutes. New Street have to wait before they know their Final opponents.

Andover New Street 2, Whitchurch 1.

Overton play Alresford Town this evening in an oft-postponed quarter final and the winners will play Tadley for the right to meet New Street in the Final.
