Appeal for volunteers to support imminent vaccine rollout

Test Valley-based charity, Unity, is appealing for volunteers to support the imminent rollout of the local Covid-19 vaccination programme.

In association with the Andover Primary Care Network and the Romsey & North Baddesley Primary Care Network, Unity has been tasked with recruiting an army of volunteers to help ensure everything runs smoothly, including checking to make sure that people know what to expect when they go in.

Unity is looking for anyone who can spare anything from a few hours during the week or at the weekend, to full-time support in both the Andover and Romsey town areas.

Terry Bishop, Unity CEO said: “The scale of this task is almost unprecedented and so we really need the public’s support. Our NHS colleagues have given their all to care for us and keep us safe and now it is our turn to step up and help them. If you, or someone you know can spare some time, even if it is just a few hours a week, it would be hugely appreciated. The NHS and all those at risk from the virus really need your support, so if you think you might be able to help then please do get in touch.”
