Aster Group shortlisted for road safety award

Aster Group have been shortlisted for the 2017 Fleet Safety Partnership Award for the second year running.

The Brake Fleet Safety Awards recognise those working to help reduce the number of road crashes involving at-work drivers.

Aster has invested in road safety through a collaborative partnership with Perfect Circle Management, and finds themselves shortlisted alongside the likes of British Gas and Anglian Water.

The business, which employs over 200 people in Hampshire from its office in Andover,  has a fleet of 87 vehicles to support the maintenance of its 28,000 homes from Cornwall to Hampshire.

Gary Prince, operations director at Aster, said: “We are incredibly proud of the planning, dedication and hard work our managers and employees have put into ensuring we are safe on our roads.”

We take our responsibility to make the roads we drive on safer very seriously so it fantastic to be recognised by Brake. We are looking forwarding to finding out the results.”

Brake, the road safety charity, works with communities and organisations across the UK to prevent road deaths and injuries, making streets and communities safer for everyone, but also supporting people bereaved and seriously injured on roads.

Katie Shephard, development director at Brake, said “We’ve been incredibly impressed by Aster Group. It is fantastic that they are making a real effort to end the needless crashes on our roads as a result of at-work drivers.”

Our external judges now have the difficult task of choosing the winners. We wish Aster Group the best of luck and look forward to seeing them all at our awards ceremony.”

The results will be announced at an awards ceremony in September.
