Businesses making a positive difference in their communities are set to be recognised as judging gets under way for the Test Valley Business Awards 2026.

Nominations for this year’s awards closed on Sunday, 2 August, with sponsors now reviewing entries and beginning the process of selecting the businesses and individuals who will become finalists.
Barratt David Wilson Homes Southampton has returned as a Gold Sponsor for 2026 and will once again support the Business in the Community Award.
The category recognises organisations that go beyond their day-to-day commercial activities to make a positive contribution to the communities in which they operate.
Businesses could be recognised for work including supporting local charities, encouraging staff volunteering, working alongside community organisations or developing projects which provide a measurable benefit to local people.
Judges will consider the level of community involvement demonstrated by entrants, the impact their activities have had locally and the approach businesses have taken towards community engagement and social responsibility.
A spokesperson for Barratt David Wilson Homes Southampton said: “Strong businesses can play an important role in creating strong communities. We are delighted to continue supporting the Business in the Community Award and to recognise organisations across Test Valley that are using their time, skills and resources to make a genuine difference to the people around them.
“We are looking forward to reviewing this year’s entries and hearing more about the many different ways businesses are supporting their local communities.”
The judging process will see entries considered from businesses and individuals across Andover, Romsey, Stockbridge and the surrounding Test Valley villages.
Katie Brooks, Chairman of the Test Valley Business Awards, said businesses which recognise the connection between commercial success and their local communities can have a significant impact.
She said: “Some of the most inspiring businesses in Test Valley are those that understand their success and their community are connected. It might be supporting a local charity, giving staff time to volunteer, helping community groups or simply identifying a problem locally and deciding to do something about it.
“Barratt David Wilson Homes Southampton has been a fantastic supporter of the Awards and the Business in the Community category. Their continued involvement allows us to shine a light on businesses whose contribution goes far beyond their balance sheet.”
Attention will now turn to the announcement of the finalists ahead of the Test Valley Business Awards Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, 17 October 2026.
The event will bring together businesses, sponsors and guests to celebrate organisations and individuals from across the borough.
Further announcements, including the finalists and details of the Gala Dinner, are expected to be made in the coming weeks.
