Chapel Arts Studios Launches Open Call for 2025 Exhibition: ‘Wish You Were Here’

Applications are now open for OPEN OPEN 2025, the annual open call exhibition at Chapel Arts Studios (CAS), Andover. This year’s theme, ‘Wish You Were Here’, invites artists to reflect on the idea of remembrance – from deeply personal memories to shared experiences of place, nostalgia or loss.

Selected works will be exhibited at The Chapel Gallery, Andover from 3 – 26 July 2025, with public opening hours Thursday to Saturday, 11am–4pm.

How to Enter

  • Who can enter: Artists aged 16+
  • Submission limit: Up to 3 artworks
  • Entry fees:
    • £15 for up to 2 works
    • £10 for a third work
    • CAS Associate Artists: £10 for 2 works, £5 for a third

All visual art forms are welcome, including painting, print, sculpture, installation, film, audio, and digital media.

Artwork Guidelines

  • Wall works: Max 1m x 1m – framed or with hanging fixings
  • Sculptures: Max 1m x 1m footprint, up to 3m height – must be freestanding
  • Video/Sound: Max 5 minutes (display needs can be discussed)

All image submissions must be:

  • 300dpi
  • Minimum size 1536 x 1024px
  • Labelled as: “Your Name – Artwork Title – Medium – Size – Price”

Awards & Opportunities

  • Judge’s Favourite: Solo exhibition at Chapel Gallery in 2026
  • People’s Favourite: Free CAS Associate Membership & artist takeover
  • Hampshire Artist Award: Paid artist residency for a local Hampshire artist

Artworks will be selected by a panel of specialist judges (to be announced soon) using criteria such as originality, use of materials, execution, and conceptual strength.
