Communities across Hampshire are being invited to get involved in the Greening Campaign this autumn- a programme helping local people work together on practical projects that can make everyday life better while tackling climate change.

The Greening Campaign has already successfully supported 20 Hampshire communities through the programme, and has now been awarded funding from the National Lottery to onboard 10 more communities in Hampshire this year.
Activities in the two year programme include growing fruit and vegetables, helping people make their homes more energy efficient, setting up projects to repair, share or reuse items, creating wildlife-friendly spaces, and helping people prepare for hot weather and heatwaves.
Communities benefit from expert support from programme partner organisations Garden Organic, the Environment Centre, Action Hampshire and Hampshire County Council, with additional support from Our Version Media.
Terena Plowright, Director of the Greening Campaign, said:
“You don’t need to be a ready-made group or a climate expert. If you have people who care about their community and want to make a difference, we can help you turn that enthusiasm into practical action.”
The Greening Campaign is organising a number of online and in person information events where those interested can find out more. Details about these, and more information about the programme can be found at greening-campaign.org/join, or enquiries can be sent to hello@greening-campaign.org.
