Community Boost as Pavilion Project Gets Underway in Enham

Exciting progress is being made at Enham Pavilion as a renewed community effort, spearheaded by Kick Out The Stigma – Andover, begins to breathe new life into the once cherished but long-neglected site.

The initiative has teamed up with local partners including Baltic FC, Enham Trust, Aster residents, independent traders, and businesses from across Andover with the aim of restoring the pavilion to its former glory. The building, which holds fond memories for many, has in recent years become a victim of weather damage and vandalism — a sorry sight in the heart of Enham.

On Monday 7th July, Kick Out The Stigma – Andover announced a major step forward: a skip generously donated and delivered by Andover Patio Centre has arrived on site, marking the beginning of the clean-up operation. Fencing and equipment are now in place as the team prepares for a full risk assessment.

Once this assessment is complete, the project will be handed over to health and safety teams to ensure all necessary procedures are properly followed before any significant refurbishment begins.

A spokesperson for the team said via Facebook: “We are now awaiting a risk assessment to hand over to H&S to follow the book and assure everything is properly done and ready to crack on.”

The news has been met with enthusiasm from the local community, with many expressing excitement at the prospect of seeing the pavilion restored and in use once again.

The ultimate goal is to reopen the space not only for local football teams but also to provide a hub for events and gatherings, allowing the Enham community to create new memories in a familiar setting.

Kick Out The Stigma – Andover continues to play a central role in the initiative. The group promotes mental health support and inclusion through sport and community engagement, and has been instrumental in galvanising local support for the project.

Anyone wishing to get involved or offer help is encouraged to contact Kick Out The Stigma – Andover via their Facebook page.

The Enham community is watching closely – and with optimism – as this long-awaited project takes its first real steps toward becoming a vibrant local space once more.
