A local community campaigner has been praised after volunteering her time to clean up litter around Waterloo Court in Andover following last week’s discovery of a large-scale cannabis factory.

Last week, four men were arrested after police uncovered more than 1,800 cannabis plants inside the vacant Hambledon House office building on Waterloo Court. Officers attended the scene on Monday 7 July after members of the public reported what appeared to be a cannabis cultivation operation inside the empty premises.
The day after the discovery, local campaigner Manuela Wahnon was up at the crack of dawn with litter picker and bags in hand, determined to help improve the appearance of the area.

Manuela, who writes the popular Attitude of Gratitude blog, regularly volunteers her time to litter pick across Andover and is well known for celebrating the town’s positive stories while championing local businesses and community groups.
Sharing images from the clean-up, she highlighted the importance of taking pride in the town and showing that even small acts of kindness can make a visible difference.
Her efforts were warmly received by local residents, with many praising her continued dedication to keeping Andover looking its best.
While police continue their investigation into the cannabis factory, Manuela’s actions have provided a positive reminder of the community spirit that exists within the town, with volunteers continuing to make a difference through simple acts of care and civic pride.
