Andover Mind to Host Children’s Audiobook Event with Local Author Daniel Hooks
Children and families are being invited to discover a mischievous new monster this November as Andover Mind hosts a special event celebrating a new children’s audiobook by local author Daniel Hooks.
Taking place on Saturday 7 November 2026, the event will introduce young audiences to Gobble De Gook, an original character created by Daniel for his new story aimed at children aged between seven and ten.
The event will run from 11.30am until 1.30pm at Andover Mind’s premises in Westbrook Close, off South Street in Andover.
At the heart of the story is the naughty and funny Gobble De Gook monster, a rather unusual character who lives in George’s toy box.
Children attending will have the opportunity to be introduced to the character and discover the imaginative world created by the local author.
The new audiobook is designed for children aged seven to ten, combining humour, imagination and storytelling to introduce young listeners to George and his unexpected toy box companion.
The event also provides an opportunity to celebrate the creativity of a local writer while bringing families together for a community activity.
Donations to Andover Mind will be gratefully accepted during the event, giving visitors the opportunity to support the local mental health charity and its work within the community.
Andover Mind provides mental health and wellbeing support to people across the local area, and the event offers a chance for families to visit its Andover premises while enjoying a children’s storytelling experience.
Families with children who enjoy funny characters, imaginative adventures and discovering new stories are encouraged to come along and meet the mischievous Gobble De Gook.
