Businesses across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are being invited to “join the fight against business crime” through a new initiative offering 12 months of free membership to UK Partners Against Crime (UKPAC).

The campaign, funded by Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones, gives businesses access to UKPAC’s crime reporting platform and secure Crime Hub. The system allows business owners to log incidents, share intelligence and receive real-time alerts aimed at protecting staff, customers and premises.

Members can also access updates on local crime trends, repeat offenders, watch lists and safety advice.

The initiative is designed to strengthen collaboration between businesses, police and community safety partners, targeting issues such as shoplifting, antisocial behaviour and theft.

Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones said the scheme gives businesses practical tools to work together and help make communities safer.

She said:

“We are now seeing long custodial sentences for some of the worst retail crime offenders in our region.

“Thanks to this initiative with UKPAC and retailers across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, the police are now catching more shoplifters.”

Through the Crime Hub, members can log incidents quickly, receive intelligence updates and help identify prolific offenders. The platform supports information-sharing between police, local authorities, Business Improvement Districts and Business Crime Reduction Partnerships.

Gareth Lewis, Chair of UKPAC, said the campaign focuses on prevention and collective action.

He said:

“By joining UKPAC, businesses don’t just get access to a reporting system, they become part of a movement working together to make our towns, high streets and rural areas safer.”

UKPAC says data submitted by members has already contributed to successful prosecutions. The organisation reports that intelligence shared during the latter six months of 2025 led to 89 offenders being charged with retail crime offences, resulting in custodial sentences totalling more than 46 years.

Recent cases include prison sentences of 86 weeks for breaching Criminal Behaviour Orders and further sentences of 34 weeks and 24 weeks for retail crime offences.

The free 12-month membership is available to businesses in all sectors across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, including retail, hospitality and small independent firms. The campaign runs until 31 March 2026.
