Despite national proposals for change, Healthwatch Hampshire confirms it remains fully independent and continues to support the community as usual.

Healthwatch Hampshire has moved to reassure residents across Andover and the wider county that it continues to operate as normal following Government proposals to restructure local Healthwatch services.
Plans announced this month would see local Healthwatch brought under the control of local authorities and Integrated Care Boards. However, no legislation has been passed, and Healthwatch Hampshire remains fully active and independent.
In a public update, the organisation stated:
“We want to reassure everyone that Healthwatch Hampshire continues to operate as usual.”
The service is still offering confidential advice, taking feedback, and helping shape the way local health and care services work for residents. It continues to focus on the needs and experiences of local people – particularly those who often go unheard.
Healthwatch Hampshire acts as the independent champion for people using NHS and social care services, gathering insight, providing information, and ensuring the public voice is central to how services are delivered and improved.
What They Do:
- Represent local people’s views on health and care
- Speak out on behalf of patients and service users
- Provide information on accessing care and navigating local services
- Influence decision-makers on future improvements
“We believe a strong, independent public voice is vital – and we’re proud to continue representing our community during this time.”
Healthwatch Hampshire is encouraging anyone with concerns or feedback about their local NHS or social care services to get in touch. Updates will be provided as any national changes progress.
