Despite the Army Flying museum being closed due to the current national lockdown 2, Dan Ball and his outreach team are inviting the community to get involved with the museums latest community project as part of Project Eagle, the museum’s National Lottery Heritage Funded project.
The Army Flying Museum is encouraging the community to help the museum to create a mini squadron of knitted and crochet helicopters.
Outreach officer, Dan Ball told Andover Radio 95.9fm “We want people everywhere to get involved as part of our ‘Sky High’ art series of installations next year, which will also be involving embroidery and sewing enthusiasts to use our stories, collections and aircraft as inspiration for military inspired fashion jackets and a graffiti art project.
“We are inviting people to help create as many mini helicopters as possible to be displayed around our historic helicopters which range from cobra’s, lynx’s, gazelle’s and scouts!”
The closing date for mini helicopters is the 16th January 2021.
They can be any size or colour, the brighter the better!

Completed helicopters can be posted to the museum whilst they are closed, or if you live locally to the museum you may wish to wait until we reopen after the national lockdown.
