More than £7,000 was raised for local young people as supporters gathered for the 15th annual Jamie G Sporting Trust Gala Ball at The Lights in Andover on Saturday 20th June.

The popular fundraising event brought together members of the community, local businesses, sponsors, friends and families for an evening celebrating the positive impact of youth sport across the town. The event raised an impressive £7,135, with funds helping the Trust continue its work supporting young people through sport.

Organisers described the evening as one filled with love, joy and community spirit, with donations pouring in from both small independent businesses and large corporate organisations. The generosity shown throughout the event exceeded expectations and highlighted the ongoing support for the charity’s mission.
The Jamie G Sporting Trust was established in memory of Jamie Gentleman and has been helping young people across Andover access sporting opportunities, equipment, facilities and coaching. Through grants and funding, the Trust has made a lasting difference to countless young athletes and sports clubs throughout the area.

Tommy Gentleman, chairman of The Jamie G Sporting Trust, thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the evening.
“Our annual Gala Ball is a chance to remind ourselves of the importance that youth sport has in our community,” he said.
“Sport provides a platform for young people to build confidence, resilience and friendships, whilst building the foundations of good physical and mental health.
“I would like to thank everyone that attended, as well as those that donated a gift, prize or service to the auction and raffle. We had a great evening and raised £7,135 – money that will make a positive impact on young people in Andover.
“Jamie would be proud.”
The Trust also expressed its gratitude to everyone involved in organising and supporting the event, including volunteers, donors, sponsors and guests who attended the evening.
Following another successful Gala Ball, trustees say they remain committed to continuing Jamie’s legacy and ensuring more young people in Andover can benefit from the life-changing opportunities that sport provides.
