With national restrictions now in force, Hampshire County Council is urging local residents to stick to the new rules to help get the county out of lockdown, post-2 December.
Leader of Hampshire County Council, Councillor Keith Mans said: “Hampshire residents have shown real commitment over the past few months in adhering to the guidance for a Medium Alert area – and my heartfelt thanks for this. Now, with new restrictions starting, I urge everyone to continue the good work by complying with the new guidance so that we can get back to local decision making.”
The new rules:
1. Self-isolating at home if you have symptoms of COVID-19 and getting tested
2. Not mixing with anyone from outside your immediate household or support bubble, either inside or outside (although you may meet with one other person in an outside public space)
3. Keeping your distance from people not in your household, or support bubble – two metres apart wherever possible
4. Reducing all but essential travel
5. Wearing a face covering wherever required to do so; and
6. Washing your hands regularly
Councillor Mans added: “Hampshire is well prepared to respond to the changes in circumstances, both to protect the health and wellbeing of local residents, as well as to ensure the ongoing provision of vital essential services, including education, highways maintenance, waste recycling and support for the most vulnerable.
“As we head further into the winter, we will continue to closely monitor the prevalence of the virus across the county, and take any further action needed to deal effectively with local outbreaks.
“By working together, we can protect one another and keep our county safe.”
