A local car club has helped make prom night unforgettable for students at two Andover schools – while raising more than £1,000 for charity.

Shift Social UK, based in and around Andover, organised and delivered 13 prom trips for Winton School students for the second year running, as well as supporting this year’s Harrow Way School prom. The initiative not only gave pupils a stylish arrival to their big night but also helped raise funds for Naomi House, a local children’s hospice.
The project holds special significance for one of Shift Social’s founders Joel Kirby, who is a former Winton student himself.
“There’s a bit of nostalgia with this one,” Joel said. “The students we took to prom this year were basically born the year I had mine. Hopefully, this inspires them to aim high – and maybe in 16 years’ time, they’ll be in a position to give something back too.”
Thanks to donations from parents in exchange for their child’s prom trip, a total of £1,055 was raised for Naomi House, which provides essential care and support to children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
Joel added: “Thank you to everyone who helped and to all the parents who contributed. Winton School”
