Throughout her time as Matron, Sarah has led the clinical team with compassion, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to the highest standards of care.

Since becoming a glamorous granny, Sarah has chosen to continue her role at the hospice in a part-time capacity. She remains a key part of the team, bringing her clinical knowledge, wisdom, sense of humour, and compassion to the patients and families supported by the hospice.

A New Matron: Sophie Jasper

Stepping into the role of Clinical Matron is Senior Sister Sophie Jasper, who joined the hospice in March 2016. Sophie has worked closely with Sarah over the years as a valued member of the senior nursing team and, under Sarah’s mentorship, has developed into an exceptional leader.

A Heartfelt Transition

As Sarah passes on the baton, the hospice team is confident that Sophie will carry forward the same values, excellence, and dedication that have defined its care for decades – both within the hospice and out in the community.

The hospice has thanked Sarah for her extraordinary contribution and congratulated Sophie on her well-deserved promotion, marking a significant new chapter for the much-loved local service.
