A stylish new addition to the Chantry Centre is celebrating a cash boost as Style Nails has been awarded a £1,200 Independent Retailer Grant from Test Valley Borough Council.

The salon, owned by My Truong, offers a wide range of treatments from classic manicures and pedicures to intricate hand-painted designs and 3D flowers—perfect for weddings, parties, or just a bit of pampering.
“We are incredibly thankful to the council for the grant,” said My Truong. “Their support has been invaluable in helping us establish our business in the Chantry Centre.”
The salon has taken over a previously vacant unit in the shopping centre and is already proving popular with customers looking for high-quality nail services including acrylics, gel powder, infills, SNS dipping powders, and shellac.
The grant is part of the council’s drive to rejuvenate town centres and support local independent businesses.
Councillor Jan Budzynski, who represents Andover St Mary’s ward, said:
“We are excited to see Style Nails flourish in the Chantry Centre and wish My Hai Truong and her team much success. These grants are a fantastic way to support new businesses and help keep our town centre vibrant.”

The Independent Retailer Grant provides £600 after three months of trading, followed by another £600 after six months. To qualify, businesses must occupy a previously empty ground floor unit in a town centre for at least a month. Shops, restaurants, and cafes are all eligible.
