A local theatre company has arranged a coup by bringing ‘Legally Blonde: The Musical’ to The Lights next month.
Andover Musical Theatre Company are in rehearsal for the high energy, fabulous (and pink) extravaganza from 7th-10th November.
If you haven’t come across a pink leaflet, or two, scattered around local businesses in Andover yet, here’s the low-down on AMTC’s the sparkly West End production that’s heading for Andover:
The show is a non-stop, energetic, fantastic night out filled with moments of from hysterical laughter, to heartbreak. Follow the trials and tribulations of Elle Woods, a UCLA Sorority sister, in her quest to follow her heart. Set in 90’s Harvard Law, Elle manages to bag herself a place at the prestigious school in pursuit of her “true” love, Warner. But, whilst at Harvard, Elle discovers more about herself than she ever dreamed possible.
Directed by Becky Rungen with the assistance of Musical Director, Adam Blosse, this will be a theatrical event you don’t want to miss.
Sophie Ross is taking on the role of animated, optimistic and all-round lovable sorority sister, Elle Woods, and she says that playing the role has been a dream come true, “I was over the moon to be cast as Elle – the part is empowering, witty, and an emotional rollercoaster. Elle’s songs are challenging and musically exciting.
“Working on Legally Blonde has been an absolute joy – we have such a talented cast and I’ve made some truly amazing friends. I genuinely couldn’t wish for a more wonderful part in a more enjoyable show.”
Director Becky says the show has been hard work, but well-worth the dedication, passion and sleepless nights, “What I’ve loved most about the show is seeing my vision come alive and watching how hard everyone is working and improving. It’s a huge thrill.”
AMTC have an incredible cast, including an adorable Chihuahua – that’s right, if you weren’t sold already, surely the appearance of a dog can sway you? Everyone is working hard, week-on-week, to make sure the show is going to be a musical night of magnificent proportions.
