Photo first in the UK launches in Andover

Andover’s photo services shop Photos2Print is holding its grand reopening today (2nd November 2017) with a UK first.

Photos2Print, previously Cartridge & Personalised Print World, on Bridge Street is the first retailer in the UK to use Fujifilm’s Wonder Photo Shop concept – an idea first developed in Tokyo to combat the decline in photo printing.

The Wonder Photo Shop deletes the old clinical style of photo developing with a radically fresh approach.

By using the hugely successful Instax Camera, Fujifilm’s new concept appeals to a younger audience, inspiring the generation of digital and mobile photographers.

Since Tokyo, similar concept stores have launched around the world in prime locations including New York and Barcelona. Until now, the concept hasn’t been seen in the UK and Photos2Print in Andover is the first in the country.

Lesley-Ann Simmonds, who owns Photos2Print with her husband Mark Simmonds says, “We were excited by Fujifilm’s research in this area, and after visiting the Barcelona store and seeing the concept for ourselves, we knew it was the right direction for our cartridge and photo business.

“We’ve completely revamped our shop and were delighted to be asked to be the first retailer to offer the Wonder Photo Concept in the UK, although it doesn’t quite have the same excitement as New York or Barcelona, we’ve certainly put Andover on the map.”

Lesley-Ann and Mark opened as Cartridge World 14 years ago and continues to be one of Andover’s small business success stories.  Over the years the couple have adapted and changed their business to meet the needs of a changing public, from a cartridge shop to now offering a complete photo, print and cartridge service.

Ready for Christmas, a scrap-booking and crafting area has also been created in their Bridge Street store, allowing customers to design and paint their own photo frames, scrapbooks and more.

Peter Wigington, Marketing Manager Photo Imaging Group says, “The Wonder Photo Shop concept is very important to Fujifilm as it represents our vision of what a modern photo retail store should be. It takes consumer photo beyond just a 6×4 print into a whole world of creativity and fun.

“With Photo2Print, Mark & Lesley-Ann have brought that vision to the UK. It makes me very proud that they believed this was the future for their business too and I look forward to working with them and their fantastic team on even more new ideas for photo products and services in the future”.

Customers are welcome to join the store’s grand re-opening with a chance to win prizes.
