Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following a reported road rage incident in Andover which allegedly saw a car deliberately reversed into another vehicle.
The incident is reported to have taken place between 5.45pm and 6.30pm on Monday, 24 August, involving a grey BMW and a blue Toyota.
According to police, the incident began during a journey from the A303 towards London Road.
It was reported that as the vehicles came off the A303 at Picket Twenty, the Toyota stopped at an angle which prevented the BMW from continuing.
The driver of the Toyota is then alleged to have got out of his vehicle and shouted at the BMW driver.
Police said the two vehicles later reached London Road, where the Toyota driver reportedly stopped again and began shouting at the BMW driver before punching the car.
The situation is then alleged to have escalated further, with the Toyota driver getting back into his vehicle and reversing into the side of the BMW.
The collision reportedly caused a dent to the BMW, while the driver suffered a scratch to their knee.
As part of their enquiries, officers have arrested a 32-year-old man from Andover on suspicion of dangerous driving and attempted assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Police are now asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dash-cam footage from the A303, Picket Twenty or London Road during the relevant period, to come forward.
