Police in Andover are appealing for information about a knifepoint robbery against an 84-year old man at the King George Road playing fields.
It happened between 12.45pm and 1.10pm yesterday lunchtime (Tuesday 6th June) shortly after the elderly victim got off a bus on King George Road.
He was approached by two black males, both described as being 5ft 8ins tall and aged in their 20s.
The victim was then punched to the floor and threatened with a knife. He handed over £400 in cash and a gold Rolex watch to the men, who then ran off.
The victim sustained bruising to his right cheek and ear in the robbery.
Detective Constable Chris Phillips said: “This is a rare occurrence in Andover, and we are keen to hear from anyone who might have information that will help our investigation”.
