If you’ve picked up a pack of La Famiglia Rana’s Slow-Cooked Braised Beef Lasagne recently – check your fridge.

A new food safety alert has been issued after it was discovered that some 700g packs of the beef lasagne may actually contain Prawn & Lobster Lasagne instead – posing a serious allergy risk to anyone with a shellfish allergy.
The error is down to incorrect packaging, which means the product may contain crustaceans (prawns and lobster) without it being listed on the label.
The affected batch is:
- La Famiglia Rana Braised Beef Lasagne (700g)
- Batch code: L0B510816
- Use-by date: 17 June 2025
If you’ve bought this product, you’re being urged not to eat it if you have an allergy to shellfish – and to return it to the shop for a full refund, even without a receipt.
This is a national recall covering England, Scotland and Wales.
A spokesperson for the company said the error came to light during internal checks and a full point-of-sale warning has now been issued. The Food Standards Agency has published a formal Allergy Alert.
What to do
Return the affected product to the store you bought it from for a full refund.
