Users of the Ring video doorbell system across Andover were plagued with false alerts last night (Wednesday 30th September 2020).
The doorbell company which is owned by tech giants Amazon suffered “systems issues” and a reset of the technology caused devices across the country to send numerous late night motion and door alerts to subscribers.
Love Andover has been contacted by people in the town centre, Eardley Avenue and Charlton who had been affected. “Mine freaked out”, a caller told Andover Radio’s Morning Crew host Grant Francis. “My dad’s went made between about 9 and 11pm, too”.
Grant confirmed his digital doorbell was also affected.
The service was back to normal by Thursday morning.
