Rookwood pupils put on an impressive display at the ISA London West Athletics Championships last week, returning with a clutch of medals.
Rookwood athletes joined over 1,000 other competitors from schools across the region at the Thames Valley Athletic Centre Eton on Wednesday 7th June 2017. This prestigious competition saw pupils from Years 6 – 11 take part in a range of track and field events.
All pupils represented Rookwood admirably and the team came away with eight medals. Notable performances included:
- Sam Hard who gained silver in the 200m.
- Dakchya Ale who took silver in the Year 6 60m cricket ball throw.
- Joshua Armstrong whose personal best in the high jump earned him a gold medal.
- William England took gold and set a new ISA record in the Year 11 400m as well as a silver in the 200m.
Head of PE, Miss Brown commented “I must congratulate all of our pupils on being such excellent ambassadors for both the school and for athletics. The day was an amazing experience for our athletes and every member of our team performed to their best – I could not ask for more than that. I am really proud of them all.”
